The Contribution of the Aviation Industry to the UK Economy

On 10th November 1999, OEF published the results of its analysis of the economic contribution of the aviation industry to the UK economy, commissioned by the Airport Operators Association (AOA) and the British Air Transport Association (BATA) and their members, and by the Department for Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR).  A summary report describes the key findings of the research, while a more detailed report provides more background detail and supporting material. We have also produced some comments explaining a few issues regarding our study that were raised in a discussion document published by the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) in August 2001.
